In listing prestigious scholarships, we have tried to strike a balance between going back to the inception of a scholarship award or focusing on the most recent awards. Most of the scholarship listings will go back to inception, but the Gates and Marshall scholarships will include awards only for 2001–2011. Some of the scholarships going back to inception do not have a long history (25+years).
The mean number of Marshall scholarships awarded since 2001 is 1.96/per university in our “fifty.” Universities with 3 or more awards during that time frame are below:
UT-Austin–9
Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Michigan State–6
Georgia, Penn State, Pitt, Texas A&M, Washington–4
Colorado, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa State, Oregon, UCLA–3
